FAQs - Frequently Asked Questions

SHOULD I HAVE A Bridal preview (trial)?

To ensure your big day flows easily, and to make any changes, a Bridal Preview is a great way to see how beautiful you will look in advance. A Bridal Preview can take place weeks or months prior, and can include experimentation with different looks, a record of the make-up chosen and digital photographs. Usually only the bride decides to have a Bridal Preview but sometimes moms and the bridesmaids or friends may want one at the same time. It is entirely up to you. They are lots of fun and everyone is so delighted when they leave after the Preview! I have lots of photographs for you to look at but please bring some with you, particularly hair styles that appeal to you.

HOW MUCH IS A Bridal preview?

A trial is $500, plus travel if applicable.

$300 retainer is required to secure a Bridal Preview date. Balance of $200, plus travel due at time of the Bridal Preview.

WHERE ARE bridal previews HELD?

All services are performed on-location, at the location of my brides. I travel throughout Long Island, and the Greater New York area. Some travel fees apply.

HOW DO I SECURE MY WEDDING DATE?

A retainer of $400 is required to secure a wedding date and will be applied towards the total due on or before the big day. The retainer is non-refundable and non-transferable to another date. A retainer to secure a wedding date must be placed 3 months prior to the wedding, prior to scheduling a trial if closer than 3 months. Just before the one month mark you will receive a checklist of all the details I need from you in order to create your schedule and total balance due.
A retainer to secure your wedding date can be taken at your makeup and/or hair trial, or placed in advance. Please note, retainers are non-refundable/non-transferable.

If a Wedding Date is less than 90 days away, a retainer must be secured prior to scheduling a trial. NO Exceptions.

HOW MANY PEOPLE CAN BE serviced ON THE WEDDING DAY?

I offer packages and a la carte services, meaning you can book for me for just hair, just makeup or both, for just you or you and your bridal party.

If on your Wedding Morning, you have a limited time to get ready or a group of 6+ services, I bring an additional stylist/artist, each for an additional $100 flat fee. (12+services, add $200 for 2 stylists/artists, etc.) My carefully selected team of artists and stylists are all talented, experienced professionals and their work  and professionalism is reflective of the work that I represent.

HOW IS THE SCHEDULE FOR THE WEDDING MORNING MAKEOVERS CREATED?

Just prior to the 60 day mark before your wedding, I will email you a checklist online form of all the details I need from you in order the final contract, and create the wedding day makeover schedule, as well the balance due . This will be based on a final count of services, the time your photographer wants you ready, etc. You will receive a spreadsheet with a timeline schedule, instructions, and information for your and your bridal party. I am very detailed, and clear with everything, so you will have nothing to worry about!

WHAT IS AIRBRUSH MAKEUP?

Airbrush makeup is an incredible technique at one time only available to celebrities and models. Due to its lightweight flawless coverage, it is now the top choice of many professional makeup artists in the bridal, TV and movie industry and has quickly become the top choice for my clients.

I use only a few drops and custom blend colors for an exact match. A soft mist of tiny micro-pixels are sprayed through the airbrush gun resulting in a smooth, flawless complexion. It can provide sheer to soft opaque coverage which is perfect for anyone who does not normally wear foundation. The coverage is so lightweight, I am often told by my clients that they feel as though they are wearing no foundation at all. Contouring, highlights, bronzer and blush can also be applied with the airbrush.

Airbrush VS TraditIonal MAKEUP

As far as using traditional make up versus airbrush make up, if you want make up to last 16+ hours then airbrush makeup is essential. The airbrush gun is just a tool, like a sponge or brush however combined with an air compressor, it releases a very super fine mist. Some of my brides want a lot of coverage, but most brides want a more natural look, and I can offer both with the airbrush, always offering a flawless, long lasting finish with the airbrush. Most importantly, I insist on the airbrush for weddings because of the fact that it lasts all day and through the night. For weddings, it is essential that the makeup lasts at least 16 hours, and is waterproof/tearproof/perspiration proof. I could do an equally great looking makeup application without traditional makeup, but it wouldn’t look nearly as fresh all day long, or be waterproof. I often have brides and bridesmaids text me the day after the wedding that their makeup still looks good at brunch, or after jumping in pools and water at the end of the night!

Because of all that, this is why my airbrush makeup application is highly recommended, and reviewed so highly. This is part of what makes the service I offer so highly reviewed. No one will be disappointed, but rather pleasantly surprised.

WHAT HAIR STYLES DO YOU RECOMMEND FOR WEDDINGS?

I can recreate any hairstyle you may see online, tv or in magazines, or come up with something specifically unique for you. When we meet for a trial, we will discuss all your options, and come up with the perfect wedding hairstyle you have always dreamed of, that will last throughout the night! This includes placement of a veil, flower, pins or whatever you may consider for your big day. My suggestions, techniques and products I use will make your hairstyle stay throughout the day, and hold up to the weather, elements and dancing.

WHAT ABOUT EXTENSIONS?

During your Bridal Preview consultation, we can determine if clip-in or fusion extensions would be something to consider to enhance your look. I offer both types of extensions you can order. Extensions can give longevity to a hairstyle, as well as deliver the drama that you are looking for on your wedding day.
